Epsilon PDF viewer is a Chrome extension that opens PDF files in a viewer built on PDF.js. Everything it does happens in your browser, on your own computer.
- No data collected: your PDFs, searches and browsing go to no one.
- No account, no analytics, no advertising.
- Settings and your place in each PDF stay in Chrome (with Chrome Sync on, settings follow you to your other computers); removing the extension removes them.
- It reads only the PDFs websites send, never other pages.
It collects no data
It does not send the PDFs you open, their contents, your searches, the pages you visit or anything else to anyone: not to its author, not to any server. It has no account, no analytics and no advertising.
This website
This website's home page counts its visits with Google Analytics, which Google runs under its own privacy policy. That concerns this website only: the extension itself sends nothing, as above.
What it keeps
Your settings for the viewer; for each document, the place you were reading, so that it opens there again; the signatures you choose to save; and which PDFs your open tabs show, so that they open again after the extension updates. These stay in Chrome's storage for the extension on your computer. If you use Chrome Sync, Chrome may also copy the viewer's settings to your other computers through your Google account, as it does for any extension's settings; they still never reach the author. Removing the extension removes them.
Why it can see websites
To open PDF files wherever you meet them, the extension has to notice when a website sends a PDF and read that file to display it. It does not read other pages.
Questions: write to the author through the extension's page in the Chrome Web Store.
